Calculator questions and error reports
Tell us which calculator you used and what needs attention. Useful reports identify the page URL, the values entered, the unit selected, the result shown, and the result you expected.
If the issue involves a city rate, include the utility’s name, the customer class, the relevant effective date, and a link to the official schedule. A reproducible example is more useful than a statement that a total looks wrong.
Keep personal information out of messages
Do not email passwords, full utility account numbers, credit card details, bank information, or identity documents. The calculators do not need that information.
If you attach a utility bill or screenshot, remove your name, street address, account number, barcode, QR code, payment details, and any other identifying information. Leave only the rates, units, billing days, and charges needed to explain the issue.
Choose a helpful subject line
Use a short subject such as “Calculator issue – Boston,” “Rate update – Philadelphia,” “Privacy request,” “Copyright report,” or “Website accessibility.” This helps identify the purpose of your message.
For a follow-up, refer to your original subject and the page involved. Avoid sending the same report repeatedly through several messages unless you have new evidence to add.
Questions for your water provider
WaterBillCalc cannot look up your balance, restore service, correct a meter reading, change a charge, set up a payment plan, or issue a refund. We are not affiliated with the utilities listed on the site.
For billing, payments, leaks at a utility-owned connection, service interruptions, or emergencies, contact your provider using the details on your statement or its official website. Do not send urgent service requests to us.
Privacy and copyright requests
For privacy requests, describe the information you previously shared and what action you are requesting. We may need limited verification before disclosing or deleting personal information. See the Privacy Policy and GDPR and Data Rights page.
For copyright concerns, identify the original work and the exact URL of the disputed material. See our DMCA and Copyright Policy for the information that helps us review a report.
Response expectations
We aim to review messages as reasonably practical, with priority given to material calculation errors and privacy or copyright concerns. We do not promise a fixed response time or individual advice for every utility bill.
A report may need source verification or technical testing. We may ask for clarification, explain the calculator’s limits, update the content, or refer you to your utility. A message does not guarantee that a proposed change will be made.
How correspondence is handled
Email messages and attachments may be processed by email service providers and retained as needed to handle the request, investigate issues, or maintain a correction record. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.
The published email address is our website contact channel. We do not publish your message, name, or email as a testimonial or contributor credit without permission.
