WaterBillCalc aims to make its information and calculators usable on desktop and mobile devices, including for visitors who navigate with a keyboard or use assistive technology.
Our approach
We use visible field labels, semantic headings, descriptive links, keyboard-accessible buttons, and text-based results. Responsive layouts place results below the inputs rather than requiring side-by-side reading.
Forms should explain required units and important limitations near the inputs. Errors and status messages are presented as text so that meaning is not conveyed by color alone.
Calculator interactions
Visitors can reach inputs and buttons through normal keyboard navigation. Focus indicators help show the active control. Result updates use status text so an update can be communicated without relying solely on a visual change.
Tables have labeled charge rows and captions. Expandable FAQ sections use native disclosure controls. A number field may still behave differently across browsers and assistive technologies.
Limitations
We have not completed a formal independent accessibility audit and do not claim certified conformance to a particular standard. Automated checks and implementation choices do not prove that every interaction works for every user.
Official utility documents and linked websites may have accessibility limits outside our control. Some sources are PDFs or complex tables. We aim to explain supported rules in readable text on calculator pages.
Report a barrier
Email contact@waterbillcalc.com with “Accessibility” in the subject. Include the page URL, the task you were trying to complete, and a description of the barrier. If useful, identify the browser and assistive technology.
Do not send passwords or other sensitive information. You can describe an issue without disclosing a disability or medical details.
Improvement and alternatives
We aim to assess reports and make practical improvements. A calculator issue may require a label change, layout change, clearer error message, or a different interaction. We do not guarantee a fixed resolution time for every issue.
If you cannot use a tool, ask about the relevant formula or information in a more readable format. We cannot access your utility account or provide emergency utility service.
Ongoing review
New calculators and design changes should retain labels, keyboard access, readable contrast, responsive layout, and clear result text. Accessibility is part of normal maintenance rather than a one-time statement.
This page will be revised as the site’s accessibility work develops.
