WaterBillCalc provides educational tools and estimates. A result is not an official water bill, a payment demand, or a decision by your utility.
Purpose of the information
The site explains water consumption, common billing terms, and selected rate structures. It is intended to help you understand how an estimate is formed and what to check on your statement.
The content does not replace your utility’s current rate schedule, tariff, service agreement, meter data, or account adjustments. It is not legal, tax, engineering, or account-specific financial advice.
Accuracy depends on the inputs
The general calculator uses rates and charges entered by you. A wrong unit, missing fee, or incorrect billing period can change the result substantially. Example values are demonstrations unless a page explicitly ties them to an official schedule.
Check whether a rate is per gallon, per 1,000 gallons, per cubic foot, per CCF, or per MCF. Use consumption and charges from the same period. Do not assume a monthly base fee covers a quarterly bill.
City calculator limits
City calculators cover the customer types and rate periods described on each page. They may exclude unusual meter sizes, nonresidential accounts, discounts, special programs, separate irrigation meters, or bills spanning a rate change.
Some tools estimate only part of a utility statement. Seattle’s calculator estimates water plus other amounts you enter. Houston’s calculator uses whole billed thousand-gallon units. Those limits are part of the tool, not minor footnotes.
Sewer, fees, and taxes
Sewer may use current consumption, a winter average, a cap, or a separate allowance. A general tool does not decide your entitlement to an exclusion or credit. Use the billed sewer volume or a verified rule where the tool supports it.
A percentage surcharge in a general calculator applies only to the base stated next to that input. Other fees entered manually do not become official charges merely because they appear in a result.
Rounding and changes
Provider rounding can differ from calculator rounding. Actual statements may include adjustments, minimum charges, prior balances, payment fees, penalties, or credits that the tool does not calculate.
Rates can change. The source-check date is not a promise that the schedule will stay unchanged. Confirm the rate period before using a city result for a newer or older bill.
No utility affiliation
WaterBillCalc is not a water provider or government agency and does not speak on behalf of them. Utility names identify the service area or source of a rate schedule.
We cannot access accounts, accept water bill payments, stop disconnection, or decide disputes. Use the provider’s official contact and payment channels.
Responsibility and corrections
Use estimates as a starting point for review rather than the sole basis for an important financial or service decision. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the site does not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free information. Nothing on this page removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
