WaterBillCalc helps US households understand water usage and estimate water and sewer charges. Our goal is to make the numbers on a utility bill easier to follow.
Why this website exists
Water bills combine several items that can be hard to compare. Consumption may be shown in gallons, cubic feet, or CCF. A utility may add progressive rates, a minimum bill, service fees, or sewer charges based on a different volume.
We bring those parts together in practical tools with clear labels and a charge breakdown. An estimate can help you plan expenses, compare scenarios, or identify questions to ask your provider.
What you can use
Our main US calculator accepts rates supplied by you. Supporting tools estimate household usage, convert water volumes, and calculate water and sewer charges using separate billed volumes.
City calculators apply a published rate schedule to a defined customer type. Each page identifies its rate period, source, and supported rules. A page for a city does not mean every utility, suburb, meter, or account in that area is covered.
How we approach accuracy
We use official utility schedules and government publications as the main sources for city rates. We check effective dates, rate units, tier boundaries, fixed charges, and available examples before adding the rules to a calculator.
We test representative examples and important boundaries. We also explain exclusions because a correct formula can still produce a misleading estimate when it is used for the wrong customer class. Read our Calculation Methodology and Fact-Checking Policy for more detail.
Independent publishing
WaterBillCalc is an independent educational website. We are not a government agency, water provider, or payment processor. We do not access your utility account, accept utility payments, or settle disputes with providers.
A link to a utility is a source or reference link. It does not imply endorsement or an official partnership. Your utility’s current schedule and actual statement remain the authority for charges.
Tools, drafting, and transparency
We use AI-assisted tools to help draft website copy, develop code, and organize information. AI output is not treated as a rate source. Calculator claims need supporting sources and the code needs calculation checks.
We do not claim that a licensed engineer, accountant, or attorney has reviewed every page. Our tools are estimates for general information, not account-specific professional advice.
Using the site responsibly
The calculators process entered numbers in your browser. They do not need your name, account number, home address, or payment details. Normal website requests and hosting services still involve technical data, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Before relying on a result, match your provider, billing period, meter size, consumption unit, and rate class. Check the page’s limitations and compare the estimate with your official bill.
