Water and sewer can use different volumes
Enter the sewer billed volume from your bill or your provider’s rules. Do not assume every gallon used outdoors is excluded from sewer billing.
Example estimate
Water: 5,000 gallons at $6 per 1,000 gallons plus $15 fixed = $45. Sewer: 4,000 gallons at $4 per 1,000 gallons plus $10 fixed = $26. With no other fees or tax, the total is $71.
These are example rates, not a city’s official rates.
Can I use progressive tiers here?
This tool uses flat rates. For a two-tier water rate, use the main water bill calculator. More complex schedules require a utility-specific calculation.
How does tax work?
The percentage applies to water, sewer, fixed fees, and other fees together. If your utility taxes only certain charges, leave the percentage at zero and enter the separately calculated tax under Other fees.
